Our Vision

We Are Committed To...

Growing high quality, affordable produce at our 2.4 acre organically certified smallholding at Southbourne on the West Sussex/Hampshire border

Investing in our community by providing organic vegetables, fruit, herbs, flowers and plants for local people

Promoting sustainable working practices to encourage others to work with nature

Teaching young people how organic food production works in harmony with all aspects of nature

Tuppenny Talk

All the road signs led to Tuppenny Barn recently with our participation in the Emsworth Arts Trail over two weekends. Our education centre became an arts exhibition area for five days, displaying the work of 11 local artists, including this sun dial by John Wyatt, the designer of Tuppenny Barn.

This month it’s business as usual although we are increasing our fund-raising activities in order to raise the final £90,000 needed to complete the centre. See Tuppenny Talk for more details.

Building a better future

Tuppenny Barn’s activities are run on a not-for-profit basis and the income from our various activities is ploughed back into the project.

We’ve made good progress in laying the foundations for our future activities thanks to the efforts of local volunteers and experts. But we need more support and financial assistance from individuals and local organisations to complete the education centre.

There are several ways you can help. By making a donation, sponsoring a straw bale or by pledging your support and getting involved in the activities at Tuppenny Barn.

Our Sponsor a Bale project involves people buying one of the straw bales that will be used to create and insulate the walls of the centre.

You can Sponsor a Bale online at the Sponsor a Bale page or send a £25 cheque to Tuppenny Barn Education Ltd. at Main Road, Southbourne , West Sussex PO10 8EZ. Please include your name, address, postcode, telephone number and email address.

Your contribution will be acknowledged on our website and on a straw bale subscribers’ display to be placed in the new centre.
